A lot of people flock to the malls during summer to stay cool despite the hot weather. Aside from shopping and eating, why not hibernate in the movie house? Here are the top 5 movies you cannot miss this May.

Mother’s Day is celebrated on the Second Sunday of May (May 8 this year). Why not give your mum an early treat by watching this movie with her. The movie tackles about the various hardships of motherhood, the tales of being a daughter, and the struggle of not knowing who your mother is. It also shows that not only women can be mothers.

What excites me about it?

  • It has a touch of drama and comedy rolled into one because, hey, life is colourful.
  • Performances of great actors and actresses such as Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, and Jason Sudeikis
  • Directed by Gary Marshall, the director of The Princess Diaries series, Runaway Bride, and other amazing movies

If you want another story of a screwed up groom, this is a movie you must see. It’s about how one guy ruined his friend’s wedding day by stopping it from happening, and how the groom ended up naked in Mexico.

What excites me about it?

  • Directed by Scot Armstrong, the writer of Road Trip and Hangover II (now, you know what I mean earlier about the screwed up groom)
  • How a tuxedo-jack actually happens
  • Whether it is really Hangover-quality (yup, it is the standard)

18 May X-Men Apocalypse **Release date in PHL

Apocalypse, played by actor Oscar Isaac, is the first mutant to exist. He is an immortal one from ancient Egypt who has the powers of a god, and lives by the motto ‘survival of the fittest’. Yup, his goal is to make human race extinct. That is where the X-Men comes in as heroes.

What excites me about it?

  • Sophie Turner as Jean Grey
  • Performance of Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse
  • Younger versions of a lot of X-Men members

  1. X MEN!!! The 3rd trailer sold me on giving it a look. Arggh not a Sophie Turner fan, she irks me. and ofcourse alice in wonderland, Johnny Deep is legend! The others will just be for interest sake lol. Are you going to watch all of that?

    1. I agree with you on Johnny Depp. If they’ll all be shown in the cinema near mea, I’d definitely watch them all. But but but, I will also consider IGN’s review haha

  2. Of all those you listed, one stands out for me… X-MEN!!!!!! Not that I would not enjoy the others, but I sort of like action more than comedy and others. 🙂

  3. I want to watch all of that movies actually. Most especially Alice through the looking glass. I watched Alice in Wonderland for about 4 times already. Another reason why I also love that movie is because of Johnny Depp.

  4. There are so many movies to see this month and I just can’t wait to watch the X-Men Apocalypse and the new Alice in Wonderland movie! I’ve been waiting for these movies since last year. I just recently saw the trailer for Mother’s Day and I found it interesting too.

  5. I’m looking forward to X-men, even though I’m not much of a fan hehe and also alice through the looking glass because of Johnny Depp haha

  6. I was suppose to see Mother’s Day but due to schedule conflicts, I had to give up the early viewing 😦 Aside from Mother’s Day, the next movie I’m interested is X-MEN! I’m sure that when my parents find out about it, they’ll force me to find a schedule when we can watch it together. 🙂

♡ Louise of Tales & Escapades

    1. Hi, Louise! Cheer up! Busy schedules means a lot of blessings are coming your way. I’m sure cinemas will show Mother’s Day for a little while longer. 🙂

  7. I would love to see the first film, but I think it will be the last one that will appeal to my little one’s taste! We’re skipping X-Men, it would be too violent for a 6-yo to see.

    1. I agree. X-Men is too violent for kids. Let’s watch out for Finding Dory this June 😉

  8. I’m not a fan of Scifi movies; so I’m going to watch all of them except X-Men!! 🙂 Love the romance & comedy films!! 🙂 Thanks for sharing!! 🙂

  9. Oh, you haven’t listed Captain America? It is quite a rage here in India.I would very much like to watch Johnny Depp, he has been around in the media for quite some time, so let me check him out.

  10. I am excited to watch the Alice Through the Looking Glass! The Alice in Wonderland was the first movie that I’d watched in 3d so I am looking forward to this one.

  13. I’m looking forward to seeing the new X men movie as I’m a huge fan! I didn’t realise that a new movie with my two faves was coming out, I love Jennifer Aniston and Julia Roberts and love that the film is directed by the person who did pretty woman that gives me reason to believe I will love it!!

  14. X-Men! Especially if it’s for free 🙂 I heard outlrcompany’s going to give free tickets for Employee Appreciation Day.

  16. Same with Robert, the movie that stood out for me in this list is the XMEN Apocalypse. I’m a big Marvel fan! Hoping this another franchise won’t fall short of all Marvel fans’ expectations! 🙂

  17. I didn’t know about any of these. I love Julia Roberts so I would probably check that out. I pretty much gave up on XMEN when they started going back in time.

    1. I agree, Heidi. Well, the recently released XMEN is way better. You might want to check it out 😉

  18. The first two movies look amazing and the Alice one as well. I loved road trips so since it’s the same creators, must be good right? Loved the other movies from Alice as well so I’m curious how this one will be!
